I have worn my adventure for 3 yrs no...it goes into the ocean swimming and now i have added going 50 miles per hour on a jet ski, I am sitting behind my boyfriend but it is great to wear and it stays on, just snug it down with back of the head adjustment strap and tighten up the chin strap!!!

This hat is perfect for when I go birding in the hot Texas sun. It doesn't block my view & provides just the right amount of coverage. Even though I wish the brim could be folded I will buy another in a different color.

My daughter owns this hat, which prompted me to buy it because it looks so good on her, and it looks just as good on me, even though we have different face structure. It is summer and hot here right now, so when I go outside, I use this hat . I thought it would be hot in the sun, but it is very cool. I love the color ... and it stays on in the wind! I have several hats in this style from SA. This hat keeps my head cool in hot weather while protecting my face, ears, and neck from the sun. I really like the velcro tab at the back hem that enables the "veil" to be down for super sun protection or up for more airflow and style. Another plus for this hat is the availability of many colors, so I can match any outfit. This hat is great for travel, I usually pack 2-3 for every trip.

This hat I wore on a 10 day trip to DR Congo and Kenya three years ago. Also, used it on trips to Nicaragua and Costa Rica. It has certainly served me very well. Keeps sun off my neck.

This is my second hat. The first one is faded - wore it 5 years in the desert sun, and never one stitch has come out!! Perfect condition, only faded. Very lightweight and comfortable, even in the desert heat. Have also worn it in the water - a great hat! Have had many others, but this is my "go-to" hat.

This is not only a great sun hat with full coverage and cool comfort. It is also perfect for wearing under a bug netting hood as the wide brim keeps the netting away from skin so the bugs can't bite through. I have 2 of these hats......have had them for years, put one or the other on my head every time I head out to the garden. They still look like new, and I'm guessing that one of them is nearly 10 years old.....the other went to Australia with me in 2005. They are great!

I live in the Outback town of Darwin in Australia where the average temperature is 35 degrees with 90% humidity and UV levels of over 14. I discovered SA by accident and it is the best discovery of my life! I have owned various sun clothing in my lifetime but nothing is near the quality of your product. I work in the outdoor garden department of a major chain store. My primary job is keeping the plants watered, which means I am required to be in the sun throughout the day. I am a fair-skinned red head and need to stay protected.

I went online to find sun-protection wear and was immediately drawn to the Adventure Hat.

It is so lightweight and comfortable! It covers my ears and the back of my neck, which I seldom take the time to cover with sunscreen. (Plus the back of your neck is so hard to cover without help.) I have had men and women alike compliment me on my hat and ask where I found it, at which time I tell them about Sunday Afternoons and then remove it and show them all of its wonderful features: sweatband, adjustment strap, velcro tab to hold up rear veil, air vents at the crown, chin strap, and of course I hand it to them so they can see how little it weighs! It did not take long at all for me to start wearing it whenever I go out. I do not feel the least bit self-conscious wearing it, as I think that the style of the hat is really cool!

I would have to say that the only negative I have found is that I had a hard time deciding on the color combination from all of the wonderful options. This is truly a wonderful hat! Please do not change or discontinue it!

My family (including 2 kids) have been wearing this style hat for 15 yrs. The quality is superb & everywhere we go, we are asked where did we get our hats. We are extremely active outdoors & after a long fun sweaty day I simply throw them in the washer & they hold up for yrs. The brim is very durable. It will become less stiff thru the yrs of washing but it is still functional & does the job. When we travel abroad we simply fold it in half & it packs well. We will NEVER buy any other style. I bought this hat to be used daily to protect me from Sunny Florida. After wearing through two other hats in quick succession, I decided I needed to invest in a proper Sun Hat. The Adventure Hat is perfect. It is functional, yet looks good. It protects, not only from the sun, but also from the rain as I discovered while one very wet Boy Scout camping trip. Despite the wear and tear it still looks great! I am very happy with my Sunday Afternoon Adverture Hat.

I bought an older version of this hat from a travel catalog years ago. It went everywhere with me & I adored it but foolishly lost it. I was thrilled to finally find it again but the new one is nothing like it! The brim is way thicker and stiffer, so you can't fold or pack it, and it squeaks very weirdly! The back elastic makes it much less comfortable and the way the back "curtain" attaches is much clunkier & overall much less flattering. I am so sad I will have to mourn the old version forever.

I bought the hat for my mother-in-law, for her traveling and sun activities with the children. She loves it and uses it for all her sun activities. I gave her another hat for more elegant occasions, so that's the only times she won't wear the adventure hat.

As an active walker and traveler this hat is first off the block and into the suitcase. My biggest challenge with any hat wear is perspiration. A changeable sweat band would benefit the hat and help keep washing to a minimum for the complete hat.

With an aging population the peak gives great shade to the eyes, with sun being a major cause of Glaucoma, this hat is beneficial for that protection.

I wear this hat anytime I go outdoors. Each time I get questions and compliments from men and women alike. Two modifications I had to make on all three of my Adventure Hats: I removed the velcro tabs to hook up the back flap, and cut and bound a hole in the back above the band to put my ponytail through (think baseball cap). Please consider including this function in a future model for us long-haired folks who want to keep their necks cool. I love everything else about this hat.

I have owned my red adventure hat for nearly six years hiking and kayaking. Two friends went online and bought them after seeing mine. My hat is now faded and I would love a new one but where has the red gone? PLEASE bring red back! For safety's sake I like to be seen when I am outdoors.

Purchased this hat not sure of the fit since I have a very small head. The hat seems to fit ok. Have not actually worn it in the sun as I just received the hat but was very glad it fit.

I have had this hat for a few years and have worn it a lot! I am a mom and a teacher and wear this hat at the beach, on recess duty, and at the playground. I have a large head and it actually fits. The adjustable back is great. I like that it has a chin strap; stays put in the wind. GREAT HAT.

For 5 years I've worn these hats every day for my work as a gardener on Cape Cod and on St John in the Virgin Islands. Because my face and neck are prone to skin cancers and intolerant of sun screens, these hats protect me perfectly. They're comfortable and convenient to wear and carry. every day people stop me to ask where they can get a hat like mine, because it looks good and it's obviously perfect for the work it does.

I ordered this hat after falling in love with the Cricket hat thinking that I'd use this one while going to amusement parks where I thought the smaller brim would be more conducive in crowds and shows. It doesn't work as well for me because the flap makes my neck get extremely hot. Admitted, I am in FL so it is very hot anyway. But the flap prevents air from circulating around my neck and bottom half of my head and it just gets too hot. I always want to take it off. I don't like the way it looks with the flap rolled up. So I always go back to my Cricket hat and I have even ordered the Charter hat and prefer that as well.

I bought this hat to take on a trip to the Caribbean in October. I wore it everywhere, on the beach, boating and shopping in town. The wide brim shielded may face and ears wonderfully and the back veil kept the hot sun off my neck. I love that the veil flips up so I could get some occasional sun. I received many compliments and each time I gave your web address. It is so easy to remember. I like the look of the Sundancer also. That will be my next purchase to add to my hat collection.

A friend gave me this hat about six years ago and I still wear it every day. I work outside and this hat has saved my skin! I know so many people who have countless hats and don't wear them because they're uncomfortable. I have always hated hats until this one came along. I have a small head and usually look really bad in hats. Somehow I don't look ridiculous in this one. After all these years I'm treating myself to a new one. I love these hats and own a few. Got my first one out in Montana and love love love it. With the nice wide brim you can get away without wearing sunglasses on the sunniest day and if it gets real windy the chin strap works great. Hot? Flip the back flap with the Velcro and your good to go.

I have been trying to be consistent in wearing hats, but after a recent diagnoses and derm surgery, I will be more vigilant in the use of hats. The Adventure Hat is a wonderful product for just about any outdoor use. It is a flattering hat for both long and short hair. As a backpacker, this is the first hat I’ve found that allows me to tilt my head back without a brim hitting against my pack. It has all the benefits of a cap, but with a much broader brim. The long back-of-the-neck flap provides excellent coverage, and can be tucked up if desired. The hat is lightweight, yet sturdy enough to hold its form, even when stuffed into a pack. Mesh panels on both sides of the head keep things cool. The broad brim not only affords great sun protection, but holds up well against rain and hail. Adjustable straps and chin cord make for a perfect fit — I never needed to worry about the hat blowing away in the wind. Through four months of a long-distance hike in the Alps, this hat generally only came off my head at night. And because of its sturdy construction, the hat still has many more miles to go. I bought the Women's Adventure Hat in black to wear when I have to walk between buildings at work on our campus. Not a lot of people seem to order it in black, but it goes great with the clothes I wear to the office. As some one that can get sunburned just "walking across the parking lot" this hat has been a wonderful addition to my wardrobe.

A fellow traveler recommended Sunday Afternoons. We were in Egypt in the sweltering 108 degree heat and my safari hat was creating enough sweat drip down into my eyes. I bought this hat at Fiesta Days, a summer event in our small town in the mountains of Southern California. The colors are great: bright pink on top and purple underneath; and the drawstring keeps it from blowing off when I am walking in the wind.

I bought this hat several years ago, when Sunday Afternoons sold in our local street fair. I took it to France, and had women asking me where I bought it. The front brim is soft enough to roll up (very cute), which also gives me more visibility when needed. The sun protection is outstanding. My husband has one now too.

I use the hat at the beach and for gardening. It looks kind of dorky but it works, and that's the most important to me. (It looks even goofier with the back flap velcro-ed up, but I haven't needed to do that.) The chin strap comes in very handy in windy beach weather.

I have lived aboard a sailboat for 43 years in the tropical sun. I have fair skin and lots of sun damage from my long ago years of ignorance. I only discovered this hat 4 years ago while in California and have kept it as my only outdoor hat ever since. It is probably the coolest hat I've ever worn, and I find that my head never sweats while wearing it. Amazing when you have a long thick head of hair in addition. The hat is secured on with a chinstrap doesn't blow off even in the highest winds. It also gives me total sun protection: back of neck, sides of my face, top of my nose and lips. Best of all it will fold into a small bundle and fit anyplace, even a pocket at times.

I've always been good about keeping it attached to me but inevitably I set it down and left it only to return and find it was gone. Someone else hopefully will enjoy it as much as I did.

I wanted this hat for all my outdoor activities, especially hiking and camping. I really like it. The back flap is kind of dorky-looking but is very valuable for my needs; otherwise the hat looks great. The best thing about it for me is the stiff brim; I hate how other "recreational" sun hats that are packable have floppy brims. I prefer the tan color to the sagebrush/charcoal.

I always use this hat when I am outside. I even got the largest size so I could wear it under my riding helmet (would not fit over it). Now I am protected from the sun when on horseback, and it has saved my face from branches also. I love the darker underside, keeps glare from my goggles.

I live in southern NM in the high desert. We have sun, sun, sun and it is very intense. You can burn in a few minutes without protection.
I bought my first hat at a local garden store about 5 years ago in Cream/Sand. It has held up very well, through multiple hand washes.
Now, I'm ready to phase in a new hat in a different color to give me a chance to change my look.

I bought this hat in white/navy and chapperel/everygreen. I have had them for 12 years and can't live without them. They are the best I have ever seen. I used to Lifeguard and teach swim lessons and this hat protected me from the damaging rays of the sun. I have worn this hat in the chlorinated pool with no damaging effects to it. I use it for every aspect from hiking to gardening to just walking to the mailbox. I can fold this hat up and throw it in my purse and I abuse it thoroughly an it still looks brand new. The only reason I would ever purchase another hat would be for a color coordinated outfit and it would be this hat in another color. I love all the colros available but would love to see it in baby blue and a light rusty orange color.

I am a skin cancer surgical nurse and have found the perfect hat to wear for golf, tennis, kayaking, horseback riding, running, biking and just everything. I use my Adventure Hat daily for walking, running, gardening, walking the dogs, and just being lazy outside. I love the comfortable but secure fit. I also like to wash my hat in a front loader washer on the delicate cycle. I just wish that there were a way to secure the chin strap inside the hat when not in use. A good sun hat is absolutely necessary for me since I love to be outside. I give them as gifts to friends who otherwise have everything.

While in San Diego visiting my daughter, I was introduced to your hats as her whole family not only had, but wore, your hats whenever they were out and about. I was delighted when my daughter decided to order them for my husband and I for early birthday presents. I live in eastern Washington state, and we really need the protection these hats provide - especially, perhaps, as we are in our sixties. I use my hat whenever I'm out in the sun and can appropriately use it as I do some gardening and walk or bike for an hour each day. I like the way you hardly notice the hat when you're wearing it, it fits well, and is comfortable. I feel well protected and particularly like the way it covers the back of my neck. I like the style very much although I do feel a little conspicuous. I appreciate the neutral colors and the cord to hold the hat on our windy days. I consider the hats quite "spendy" and am thankful that my hat was a gift, but I would highly recommend this product and plan to use my hat the rest of my life - if I don't lose it!

I've been wearing the hat for 2 years. It does a great job of keeping the sun off, but frankly I always feel self conscious in it - it's odd looking. You definitely need to use the chin strap when it's windy, it "magnifies" your voice to your own ears, and I wish the sweat band came out for easier cleaning. My next had will be the Sport Hat.

I purchased my hat at a craft fair in Bellevue WA over 10 years ago. After much wear and many washings it still looks like new. It is cool, comfortable and it protects my face and neck from the sun. I wear it on hikes, in the garden and in my convertible with the top down. It stays put and the strap never cuts into my skin like other hats. It's also really cute--I get compliments and many questions about where it was purchased. GREAT HAT!!

I bought this hat for wearing at the beach last year and found it easy to wear, lightweight, comfortable, and nice color (primrose/lavender). It's like having a parasol shading your face but you don't have to hold it. Stays put on windy days.

This hat will be great for our upcoming travels because it will pack so well. I don't like the decorative band on some of the original colors and notice that it has been deleted from some of the new colors. Will you be adding a nice red color in the future?

I have owned this hat for over 10 years and still have the same one, that's how durable they are! In fact, I love this hat so much that each member of my family has one. I have used this hat on casual afternoons in the garden, on dive cruises, while hiking in the Grand Canyon and Arches National Parks. The one thing I notice each time I wear my hat is that when I look around, people around me are sweating and squinting and having a terribly overheated time (we live in Sacramento where it gets 110 degrees in the summer). While everyone else is "suffering" in the heat, I am barely sweating and do not feel anxiously overheated.

This is a much better value than the last summer sun hat I bought from a competitor (Solumbra). The fabric is a bit stiff and the style a bit dorky, but I don't care! It protects even the point of my nose from the sun and the chin strap keeps it from blowing off in the wind. I couldn't wear it in the summer sun and heat without the mesh and the sweat band. If possible, I'd like even more wicking and breathability. I'll be back for more next summer!

This is my favorite hat because it does the best job in covering the sides of my face. I like that it has a drawstring so it does not blow off. I want full sun coverage so I would prefer fabric where the vents are. I like it because it is lightweight and folds easily to fit in my purse.

I have 2 of these hats: a blue one for working and a white one for when I travel. Both are EXCELLENT at providing protection from sun. The strap is a MUST - otherwise the hat would quite likely blow away either when I'm mowing, standing on the deck of a cruise ship, hiking a mountain, etc. I would highly recommend this hat to anyone who spends time outside and wants protection from the damaging rays of the sun. For the record, I also bought one of these for my reluctant-to-wear sun-protection husband and he wears his when he's mowing.

This is the best sun hat I've ever owned! I am allergic to sun. In March, I went to Jamaica and I took long walks - not in the shade. I put the flap down and my neck did not burn! This hat is incredibly breathable. My granddaughter got too much sun, so I lent it to her and she jumped in the pool with it - no damage done to the hat at all. The 4" brim is the exact size to protect my face. I can't recommend this hat enough and the price is fantastic! Thank you!

I have had adventure hats for over 15 years and would still have my very first one except I lost it! I currently have three in use including one permanently in the car just in case. They are excellent hats for packing, carrying and wearing for sun protection. I wear mine in the water, hiking, walking....basically everywhere if I will be in the sun at all. Not the most stylish, but well worth it for the ease of use and protection.

This hat style is great for full sun protection and wearing all day without any discomfort of heaviness or over heating. It is lightweight and gives me complete coverage. We do construction work in the blazing sun all day. Love it.

Anytime you want to shade your eyes wear this hat. Sometimes I can even not wear my sunglasses. Also works well to keep rain off of your glasses.

I must have 10 assorted Sunday Afternoon hats, and love them all. Most recently, I purchased the Adventure Hat in PINK. It's perfect for social gatherings, while other of my Adventure Hats are used for gardening and fishing! Great to have that SPF too! Thank you!

We live in a really sunny area. I never go outside without a hat. This hat provides excellent sun protection to the face. It is lightweight and comfortable to wear.

I have a small head and this hat came in only two sizes (if I remember correctly) which was kind of disappointing.

All in all, this is an excellent hat for anyone who wants serious sun protection.

I'd always worn straw hats in the past. I love being able to put this one in my luggage or backpack. It is comfortable and has provided excellent sun protection.

I always wear this hat on vacation and anytime I am in the sun for an extended length of time--think over 15 minutes. I have the hat in pink and white and have gotten many compliments on them. The hat fits, is not hot at all, and is easily washable. There is nothing I dislike about it.

The stiff brim and chin strap lend themselves well to windy weather and/or sports. (I use this hat for bicycling since I am more worried about skin damage and cancer than traffic accidents. I suppose one could modify it for use under a helmet if one cut slits into the mesh vents to run the helmet strap through. Maybe an idea for Sunday Afternoons: design a hat to be worn under bike helmets!)

I like that this hat is light-weight, breathable, and non-constricting.

I do not like its dorky look; you really cannot care about style when wearing this.

The Hawaiian sun can beat down on you. First time I saw this hat was at the beach, a swimmer was wearing it. It looks good, is comfortable, and weighs almost nothing. It dries in a few minutes after wearing it in the water and you can roll it up and stick it in your purse. I absolutely love in this hat.

The first time I saw it was at the beach, a women in the water was wearing it. I asked where she got it and I ordered it that morning. The hat is so light and comfortable, my sister in law stole it from me. I had to buy more, my husband took it as well, I must have bought 10 of them. Recently a lady at the beach asked if she could buy it from me.

I have taken my hat to NY, Ireland, and China. (Lost it on a bus in china, but lucky for me, I brought along another one).

If you buy this hat you will be very happy. I do not have one complaint about this hat. I bought many other hats until I found this one. I bought it in a number of colors. It looks good on everyone.

I've been looking for a hat for the hot summer. Now this adventure hat is a really good hat which can fully cover my face and neck, so I won't get sunburn, and it is very light. I also bought two kid's play hat for my daughters too, they love them.

I have three Adventure Hats. One at home, one in the car and one at work. All that because I don't want to be caught without it. I work at sea and it's the best hat I ever had.

I use my hat 365 days a year, it's in my bag wherever I go. I live in Israel, a very hot country. I have had skin cancer and now have to be very alert about sun protection.

This was the first sun protective hat that I purchased when it was suggested by my Dermatologist and it is still a favorite. I have worn it hiking, on the beach, and on the water. It packs well in a suitcase or backpack and gives great sun protection for my face. I use a little sunscreen for the back of the neck on windy days.

I received my hat on my birthday and immediately took it out of the box and took it with me to the zoo that day. Wore it all afternoon and I LOVED it. This is the most comfortable, lightweight, fantastic hat I have ever owned. And it kept me from getting any sunburn on my face and neck at all. I would buy this hat again in a heartbeat.
